Wireless, without the need for a connected PC or smartphone, and with motion tracked controllers - the Oculus Quest could be the breakout product that finally makes VR mainstream by eliminating all the inconveniences. But to do that, it will need some great apps and games to go with it. Here, we'll keep track of all the confirmed and rumored releases.
The Oculus Quest is slated to launch this spring for $399, and Oculus have promised 50 launch titles lined up to start with. So far, this is what we have confirmed, and the likely rumors.
Latest news: arts, sport, and Star Wars action
Tilt Brush is here for untethered artistic expression
Google's Tilt Brush lets you paint the entire world around you in VR, empowering your virtual brush not just with color, but with light, sound and sculpted 3D objects too. Creative types have achieved wonders with this app for a few years, even painting inside other VR games. Now you can literally unleash your imagination, thanks to its confirmation for the cordless Oculus Quest.
New trailer reveals more of Vader Immortal's dark side
Vader Immortal was an intriguing selling point of the Oculus Quest from the get-go and it will also be coming to Oculus Rift. At the recent Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago, we got a new trailer that shows us what we can expect from it.
While not a game per se, it does have some elements of role-playing and interactivity. You play as a prisoner inside Lord Vader's underground complex who is determined to escape, with the help of a droid and some rag-tag aliens. At some point there will be combat sequences and you may get to wield a lightsaber. Some sneaking, climbing and even space combat from the protagonists point of view will be there, though we're not sure how challenging these will be.
Get active with Raquet: Nx
One Hamsa delivered a new ad for their “racquetball meets breakout” sports game Raquet: Nx to celebrate its confirmation for Oculus Quest, and the video is also the first time we've seen the Oculus Quest being used outdoors, a nice possibility for the untethered headset (though in real life, you'd have to be careful of ambient light spoiling this).
VR sports games are a great way to jazz up one's fitness routine, and Raquet: Nx looks like it could give Quest users a reason to sweat along with Beat Saber. The game can feel restrictive when you're tethered to your home PC, but if you already bought it for Rift, then your purchase will also count for Oculus Quest. One Hamsa say the game should be available “very soon” after the Quest's launch.

All the apps and games for Oculus Quest:
Confirmed at GDC and PAX East
Beat Saber, the wildly popular rhythm slash-em-up, was recently confirmed to be on Oculus Quest by a demo at GDC. Even better, VR's killer app will also be a launch day title on the most accessible immersive headset to date.
But that's not all! Space Pirate Trainer is what you'd call an oldie but a goodie in the relatively short history of VR games, and the wave shooter continues to be one of the best introductions to VR you can get. Naturally, the Quest needed to have this.
Shadow Point, the new narrative adventure game from Coatsink featuring the vocal talents of Sir Patrick Stewart will also be coming to the Quest.
During PAX East in Boston we also learned that Dance Central has been added to the line-up of Oculus Quest, as well as Western-themed Dead and Buried II.
In addition to these games, we also know that popular social VR apps Rec Room and VRChat will also be available on the new standalone headset.
All-in-all, the range of content on the Oculus Quest won't make the owners feel left out, even if the picture quality won't quite be able to keep up with PC-connected headsets with high-end graphics cards. Cross-play functionality also means that you'll be able to play with your friends even if they prefer computer-tethered headsets.
Confirmed titles
When the Oculus Quest was first unveiled last year, Oculus didn't come empty handed, but were able to demo several games including the fantastic shooter SUPERHOT VR, 3rd person VR platformer Moss and an all-new Star Wars experience (not quite a game) called Vader Immortal.
Since Oculus Connect, various developers have confirmed that their games will come to the Quest. It's a good-looking list so far, including Epic Games' excellent Robo Recall, the Groundhog Day VR sequel, immserive RPG Shadow Legend VR and more:

Unconfirmed/rumored launch titles
Oculus has stated that it wants to port as many of the Rift's top titles over to Oculus Quest, but given the latter's lower specs, not every single one of the 200+ Rift titles will make it. The fantastic free social gaming VR app Rec Room is also highly likely, with the devs having been listed at Oculus Connect 5 as working on Quest content. Here's what is probable, if not 100%, coming to the quest:
- Apollo 11 HD
- Archangel
- Altspace
